Friday, 01 February 2008
NEW YORK -- A Chinese American woman suffering from leukemia is looking for a suitable ethnic Chinese donor for a bone marrow transplant, members of a Taiwanese expatriate group in the United States said Thursday.

All ethnic Chinese aged 18-55 who are physically fit and who are willing to help are urged to receive blood tests to see if they are a match for 35-year-old Hsu Ya-shih, according to the U.S. east coast chapter of the National Women's League of the Republic of China.

Potential donors can have their blood samples collected for testing at the following locations in New York: Central Islip Campus, New York Institute and Technology (1: 30 p.m. Feb. 3); Boon Church of Overseas Chinese Mission, Flushing (1 p.m. Feb. 10) ; and Chung Hwa Book Inc., Flushing (4 p.m. Feb. 10).

They can also contact Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation Inc. located at 16 West 32nd Street, Suite 10D, New York. Web site: www.cllf.org.
