Christina's dear friend, Saachi Pace, had acute myeloid leukemia and was searching for a donor in 1997. CLLF helped tell Saachi's story to recruit new donors.

Christina was tested as a potential stem cell donor in California in hopes to save her friend. Unfortunately, she wsn't a match for Saachi. Saachi passed away in 1999. But Christina found many ways to keep Saachi's memory alive.

When Christina moved to New York, she found out she was a match for a little boy in Germany and she donated stem cells in October 1999. She has also been actively volunteering with CLLF to recruit more fellow donors and share her experience as a life-saving donor. She still keeps in touch with the little boy whose life she saved and hopes to meet him one day.
